Meet the Artist : Christina

I am a self-taught bead weaver based out of Denver, CO. My art is heavily inspired by Indigenous cultures, specifically the Huicholes. I use glass matte seed beads and gemstones in my works.

I am a white-passing, racially ambiguous, cis woman originally from SW Michigan. My heritage partially originates in Jalisco, Mexico on my mother's side and Sicily on my father's side. I have been spending this later half of my 20's on a path to decolonize, reprogram, and reconnect to my indigeneity, which ultimately lead me to this craft. I started bead-weaving several years ago and found a natural proclivity to this art form. I believe this gift has always been inside my soul, and has finally awakened and manifested into beautiful, physical pieces of wearable heArtwork. Please wear this jewelry with honor, respect, and recognition that we owe thanks to brown people for this artistry. We culturally appreciate, not appropriate. Thank you ancestors! Thank YOU for being here supporting my art.
